Federal authorities have announced significant developments in the prosecution of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA), which has been designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization. While recent press conferences highlighted the arrest and indictment of eight new members in Texas and Illinois, the most critical ongoing development involves three fugitive leaders charged in connection with the extradition of Jose Enrique Martinez Flores from Colombia. Martinez Flores, 24, was arrested in Colombia and extradited to the United States, marking the first prosecution of a TdA member on terrorism-related charges. He faces up to life in prison and a $10 million fine. However, three alleged high-ranking leaders remain at large and are the focus of an active manhunt. Giovanni Vicente Mosquera Serrano, also known as 'El Viejo,' is currently listed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. He is accused of overseeing criminal operations in Bogotá, including drug trafficking, extortion, prostitution, and murder. The State Department is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information leading to his arrest or conviction. Also sought are Yohan Jose Romero, known as 'Johan Petrica,' 48, for whom a reward of up to $4 million is offered, and Juan Gabriel Rivas Nunez, known as 'Juancho,' 45. These individuals are alleged to be part of the inner circle of TdA leadership. The FBI and Department of Justice continue to pursue these suspects as part of the nationwide violent crime initiative Summer Heat 2.0. Authorities emphasize that these individuals remain dangerous and are actively wanted.
