Takoma Park Police are actively searching for two suspects following an armed robbery incident that occurred early Wednesday morning, July 2, 2026. The crime took place in the 400 block of Belford Place in Takoma Park, Maryland. According to police reports, officers responded to the scene at approximately 2:48 a.m. after receiving a call regarding a robbery in progress. The victim, identified as a food delivery driver, was operating a green electric bicycle at the time of the incident. He was approached by two unknown male suspects who demanded his bicycle. One suspect was described as wearing all black clothing and a black ski mask, while the second suspect was dressed entirely in white. During the encounter, the suspect in black made a gesture toward his waistband, implying he was armed with a firearm. Although the victim did not visually confirm the presence of a weapon, he believed the suspect was indicating he had a handgun. The suspects fled the scene with the victim’s electric bicycle and a phone charger. Responding officers conducted an immediate search of the area but were unable to locate the individuals. A lookout has been issued to surrounding law enforcement agencies to assist in the apprehension. The investigation remains ongoing.
