FBI investigators have added Fahad Mohamed Nur, a Minnesota man, to the newly launched FBI Most Wanted Fraudsters list. Nur, who is also known by several aliases, is a naturalized U.S. citizen with ties to Somalia and is believed to be currently residing in that country. He has been on the run since 2022. Nur is wanted in connection with the Feeding Our Future scheme, a fraud operation that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. Federal authorities allege that Nur submitted fake invoices for food that was never delivered to children in need, thereby fraudulently receiving more than $5 million in federal child nutrition program funds. He faces charges of wire fraud and money laundering. A federal arrest warrant was issued for Nur nearly four years ago. The FBI field office in Minneapolis is leading the investigation and has offered a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to his arrest and conviction. Nur is the second individual with ties to Minnesota to appear on the FBI’s new most wanted list. The first person named, Said Abdullahi Ereg, surrendered to authorities in Minneapolis on June 4, 2026, after being accused of receiving more than $4 million in fraudulent funds from the same scheme. The FBI’s Most Wanted Fraudsters list was launched earlier this summer as part of a historic initiative by the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, which is chaired by Vice President J.D. Vance. FBI Director Kash Patel announced the list on June 4, emphasizing the administration's commitment to combating fraud and bringing those responsible to justice.
