Walton County authorities have positively identified human remains discovered buried on a property in Freeport as those of Jason Christopher Coulthart, a 43-year-old man from Niceville who had been reported missing since May 24. The identification was confirmed via DNA analysis on Thursday by the District 1 Medical Examiner’s Office, following a joint investigation between the Niceville Police Department and the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Coulthart was last seen leaving the College Condominiums on East College Boulevard in Niceville. The search for his body began after Niceville detectives received a tip on June 25, leading them to a property off Sunset Lane in Freeport. Upon executing a search warrant, investigators located Coulthart’s body in a shallow grave that evening. While three individuals have already been arrested in connection with the homicide, the investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities are specifically seeking to locate Isabelle Johnson, 38, who is currently at large and wanted on an open count of murder. Johnson is described as a white female, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. She is known to use multiple aliases, including Harley, Jessica Elaine Bowman, Jessica Elaine Thrush, and Jessica Dowdy. Sheriff Michael Adkinson emphasized that the department is committed to holding every person involved in Coulthart’s death accountable, including those who may have aided the suspect or remained silent. Residents are urged not to approach Johnson if spotted and to call 911 immediately.
