Philadelphia police are urgently seeking the public's assistance in locating 21-year-old Jahylin Melchur, who remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. Melchur is wanted in connection with three separate shootings that occurred near the Hunting Park Recreation Center between May 29 and June 26. These incidents include two homicides and one non-fatal shooting. The first incident took place on May 29 in Juniata Park, where a 55-year-old man was shot in the elbow and torso while attempting to rob him; the victim survived with critical injuries. On June 20, 45-year-old Martin Higgins was found dead on the bleachers of the recreation center's baseball field with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Three days later, on June 26, 29-year-old Sharef Holman was discovered near the basketball courts with multiple gunshot wounds and later died at Temple University Hospital. All victims were found partially clothed between 10 and 11 p.m. While some reports suggest the victims may have been targeted due to their sexual orientation, the Philadelphia Police Department has stated that the investigation is looking at all aspects of the case and has not yet confirmed specific motives beyond the criminal acts. Melchur's image was captured on surveillance cameras during the incidents. As of July 7, Melchur has not been located and is not in custody.
