Phoenix police are currently conducting an active manhunt for an armed suspect following a deadly home invasion that occurred in the early hours of Saturday, July 11. The incident took place just before 4 a.m. at an apartment complex located near the intersection of 36th Street and Thomas Road in Phoenix, Arizona. According to law enforcement reports, an intruder forced his way into a residence and opened fire on the occupant, 51-year-old Daniel E. Saiz. Despite the rapid response of first responders who rushed to the scene, Mr. Saiz succumbed to his injuries and died before he could be transported to a hospital. Homicide detectives have since assumed control of the investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting. At this time, authorities have not released a physical description of the shooter, nor have they identified a motive for why the home was specifically targeted. The suspect remains at large, and police are urging the public to remain vigilant. Residents and witnesses in the area are asked to review their security footage or recall any suspicious activity observed around the time of the incident.
