Authorities responded to reports of an unresponsive man in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim on the ground; he was subsequently transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. According to police, the victim and a friend were waiting in line for a business to open when a man approached the friend and began yelling at her. The victim intervened, stepping in to protect his companion. The aggressor struck the victim in the face, knocking him to the ground. A second individual then joined the assault, and the two suspects beat the victim until bystanders intervened and stopped the attack. Both men fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
