The incident took place on Sunday, June 28, just before 1 p.m., when the 66-year-old victim was shopping at the location on 70-20 Rockaway Beach Blvd. According to police reports, the suspect, described as a woman with a dark complexion and shoulder-length braids, was observed screaming and cursing at other shoppers before approaching the victim. She allegedly struck the man with her purse, punched him in the face with a closed fist, and bit both of his arms. The victim sustained minor lacerations and was transported to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, where he was treated and listed in stable condition. The suspect fled the scene running eastbound on Rockaway Beach Boulevard toward Beach 69th Street. The NYPD has released surveillance images of the suspect, who was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black shorts, pink Crocs, a large blue backpack, and carrying a white handbag. Authorities are offering a reward of up to $3,500 for information leading to her arrest and indictment.
