Auburn Hills Police are actively searching for two men wanted in connection with a smash-and-grab robbery that occurred at the Helzberg Diamond Outlet store located within the Great Lakes Crossing Outlets mall. The incident took place on the evening of July 13, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m. According to law enforcement reports, the two suspects entered the jewelry store and used hammers to smash display cases in order to steal jewelry. Following the theft, the men fled the scene on foot, exiting the mall through entry and exit six. Police confirmed that the suspects did not assault or threaten any employees during the commission of the crime. Upon arrival at the scene, officers were unable to locate the individuals, and the investigation is ongoing. The Auburn Hills Police Department has provided descriptions of the two suspects, identifying them as African American males between the ages of 18 and 25. Both are described as having similar heights of approximately 5 feet 8 inches and thin builds. The first suspect is believed to have been wearing a dark-colored thin coat, a white shirt, light-colored blue jeans, and dark-colored shoes. The second suspect was reportedly wearing a light gray hoodie, orange shorts, white shoes, and was carrying a camouflage backpack. Detectives are currently working to identify the individuals and are urging the public to assist in their apprehension.
