Selma Police are actively searching for a suspect following a robbery incident that occurred Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in Selma, North Carolina. The alleged crime took place around 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a BP convenience store located on U.S. Highway 70. According to law enforcement, the incident began as a planned transaction where a buyer had arranged to meet a seller to purchase an item advertised on social media. Upon meeting in the parking lot, the situation escalated, and the buyer was robbed. Following the theft, the suspect fled on foot, moving behind the convenience store toward a nearby apartment complex. The suspect then ran into a wooded area along the railroad tracks. The victim subsequently drove to a nearby KFC restaurant parking lot to call for assistance. Multiple Selma Police officers responded to the scene, establishing a perimeter and conducting a ground search. To aid in the manhunt, a police drone was deployed to assist officers from the air.
