Delaware State Police are actively searching for one or more suspects responsible for a shooting incident that occurred early Saturday morning, July 18, 2026, at a Waffle House restaurant located at 1450 Pulaski Highway in Newark, Delaware. The incident began at approximately 12:10 a.m. when troopers responded to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered four individuals who had been struck by bullets. Three victims were found in the parking lot: a 20-year-old man from New Castle, a 19-year-old man from Bear, and an 18-year-old woman from Wilmington. All three were transported to a local hospital where they are being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A fourth victim, a 17-year-old female from New Castle, later arrived at the hospital via personal vehicle with similar non-life-threatening wounds. Preliminary investigations indicate that the victims were targeted by unknown suspect(s) who were part of a larger crowd gathered in the restaurant's parking lot. The shooters fired multiple rounds before fleeing the scene. The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit has assumed lead responsibility for the case and is urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist in identifying or locating the perpetrators.
