David Allen Bonness, a 56-year-old man from Rapid City, South Dakota, continues to be listed as the state's most wanted fugitive. Bonness remains at large on an active warrant issued by the Pennington County Sheriff's office in 2009. He is wanted for a series of severe charges, including two counts of criminal pedophilia, seven counts of second-degree rape, three counts of third-degree rape, four counts of fourth-degree rape, and sexual contact with a child younger than 16. The allegations stem from an investigation launched by the Rapid City Police Department after Bonness was accused of sexually assaulting a girl since she was 12 years old. The victim's mother contacted authorities on December 22, 2008, leading to Bonness being brought in for questioning. During the interview, Bonness left when asked to provide a DNA sample. Police obtained a search warrant the following day, but Bonness had already fled. He has not been seen since the 2008 interview. Bonness has been on the U.S. Marshals Service’s 15 Most Wanted list since 2016. Authorities describe him as dangerous, particularly to children. He has known ties to Wyoming and Nebraska and could be anywhere in the country. He may be using the known alias “David Allen Muse” or an unknown alias. Physical descriptions indicate Bonness is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs approximately 180 pounds, has green eyes, and brown hair. The U.S. Marshals Service and the Rapid City Police Department are seeking public assistance in locating him. A reward of $25,000 is available for information leading to his arrest.
