The incident began on Friday, July 17, 2026, in the City of Dayton near the intersection of Old Riverside Drive and Riverside Drive. Deputies responded to reports of an armed robbery and later attempted to stop a black Chevrolet Equinox believed to be connected to the crime around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2026, in Harrison Township. The vehicle fled southbound upon seeing marked patrol cars, leading to a chase through surface streets. The suspect vehicle eventually drove through the backyard of a home on the 100 block of East Hillcrest Drive, went down an embankment, and struck a utility pole. Three occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Law enforcement quickly located and apprehended two juvenile males, one in the backyard of a residence on the 2500 block of Theodore Avenue and the other on the 100 block of East Parkwood Avenue with assistance from the Kettering Police Department K9 unit. Both juveniles were transferred to the City of Dayton Police Department. However, a third male suspect remains at large despite active search efforts. The City of Dayton Police Department is leading the investigation into the armed robbery. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any information regarding the whereabouts of the remaining suspect. Tips can be directed to the investigating agency. The identities of the suspects have not been publicly released at this time. The armed robbery case is active, and the third suspect is considered dangerous and at large.
