D.C. police are investigating a homicide in Northeast Washington following the fatal shooting of 43-year-old Darrius Coghill. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on the 1400 block of Saratoga Avenue NE. Upon arrival, Fifth District officers discovered Coghill unconscious and not breathing with gunshot wounds. Although D.C. Fire and EMS responded to the scene and performed lifesaving efforts, Coghill was pronounced dead. The Homicide Unit is currently leading the investigation. Authorities are actively searching for a suspect described as a Black male wearing a white tank top. The suspect was last seen driving a white Land Rover.
