New York City Police are actively searching for a suspect responsible for shooting an 18-year-old woman in the chest during an armed robbery on a subway platform in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The incident occurred Sunday night at approximately 11:45 p.m. on the downtown No. 2 train platform at the President Street-Medgar Evers College Station. The victim, who was on her way home from work, stated that the suspect initially demanded her necklaces and then her purse. After a two-minute struggle over her Steve Madden bag, the suspect pressed a gun against her chest and fired. The bullet entered her chest and exited through her upper back, resulting in a flesh wound. Miraculously, the victim did not require surgery, was released from the hospital, and is currently resting at home. The suspect fled the scene on foot. Witnesses and police describe the suspect as wearing a red Yankees hat with a white logo, black shorts, black sneakers, a black face mask, and carrying a backpack. Investigators tracked the victim's cellphone to a location on Pacific Street, where they recovered several of her stolen items. Police are urging the public to assist in identifying or locating the suspect.
