A'Marius Williams, 24, of Sorrento, Louisiana, remains at large and is wanted by law enforcement in connection with a January 2023 shooting incident in Geismar. Williams posted bond following his initial arrest but subsequently failed to appear in court, resulting in an active bench warrant. His co-defendant, Brannon Ellis, 30, of Darrow, was recently found guilty of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated flight from an officer, and unlawful handling of machine guns following a bench trial presided over by Judge Steven Tureau on July 21, 2026. The charges stem from an incident on January 19, 2023, where deputies responded to a report of individuals in a small sedan shooting at a male victim in a Geismar business parking lot. During the ensuing pursuit, the suspect vehicle crashed, and two males fled on foot. One suspect discarded a firearm and mask, while Williams attempted to discard a rifle. Evidence and video recovered by detectives confirmed their involvement. The victim was not struck by gunfire, but authorities confirmed that one of the recovered weapons was converted to fully automatic operation. While Ellis faces sentencing tentatively set for October 20, 2026, and a potential habitual offender bill, Williams remains a fugitive. The 23rd Judicial District Attorney's office, led by District Attorney Ricky Babin, is urging the public to provide any information regarding Williams' whereabouts.
