The incident took place at approximately 2:30 p.m. at the Beacon of Home Community Church, located at 1298 Alfred Road in Arundel, Maine. The church property houses an ATM, which was the target of the alleged crime. According to authorities, a church worker was present near the machine when a man approached and demanded that the worker open the ATM and hand over the cash inside. The worker informed the individual that he did not possess the keys to the machine. Despite this refusal, the suspect continued to demand money before fleeing the scene. The suspect is described as a male, approximately 6 feet tall, with an average build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black jogging suit with white stripes and black gloves. Officials noted that the suspect obscured his face during the encounter and did not display any weapons. After the confrontation, the suspect ran west on Alfred Road, also known as Route 111, heading toward Jackson's Corner.
