New York City police have identified 24-year-old Luis Aguero as the prime suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Yeimy Reyes, a popular DJ from the Bronx. Authorities are actively searching for Aguero, who is currently at large, following an incident that occurred in the early hours of July 16. The shooting took place at approximately 4:26 a.m. at the M Lounge, located at 2362 Jerome Avenue in the Fordham Heights neighborhood. Officers from the 46th Precinct responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress. According to police sources, the altercation began inside the nightclub's basement. Investigators believe the situation escalated when the victim, Reyes, reportedly pulled a handgun from his waistband. In response, Aguero allegedly shot Reyes in the head, resulting in the victim's death at the scene. EMS personnel arrived but could not save Reyes, who was pronounced dead at the location. Aguero is also accused of stealing both the victim's firearm and his watch. Reyes was known for his music on social media platforms, including SoundCloud, where he had amassed over 10,000 followers. The suspect, a Bronx resident, has a prior criminal history that includes charges for operating a vehicle without a license and resisting arrest. The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement seeks to apprehend Aguero. Police are urging the public to assist in the manhunt.
