Louisville Metro Police are searching for an unidentified suspect who shot a man during a youth football championship event on Saturday evening. The incident occurred in the 4600 block of Taylor Boulevard, near the track field of Iroquois High School in Louisville, Kentucky. Authorities responded to reports of a shooting at the large event, which included the 11U and 12U divisions of the D1 Nation National Youth Football Championship. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim who had been shot. He was transported to UofL Hospital, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. According to police, the suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting. Witnesses reported that the shooter approached a man he knew and opened fire. The event, known as the Clash of the Titans, had drawn teams from outside the area, including the East St. Louis Junior Flyers Wildboyz. Despite the violence, local youth program leaders, including Antwan Lovelace of the Louisville Titans Youth Mentor Program, emphasized resilience and community support. Games were relocated to a new site to ensure the safety and continuation of the competition. The Louisville Metro Police Department’s Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is currently leading the investigation. Police are urging anyone with information regarding the shooting or the identity of the suspect to come forward.
