Newark Police are searching for a second suspect following an armed robbery incident that occurred outside the Christiana Mall in Newark, Delaware, on Saturday night. The incident took place around 7:40 p.m. in the JCPenney parking lot, where two victims were approached by two suspects. According to law enforcement, one suspect robbed a 47-year-old male victim, while the second suspect, a 17-year-old male, struck the victim in the head with a handgun and chased a second victim at gunpoint. The second victim was reported to be unharmed, and the first victim declined medical treatment. Following the incident, the 17-year-old suspect fled from police but was subsequently taken into custody. A handgun was recovered from his waistband. He has been charged with robbery, resisting arrest, weapons offenses, and related crimes. Authorities are actively looking for the second suspect, who is described as a man between the ages of 20 and 24, standing between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighing between 160 and 170 pounds. Although initially reported as armed, police have confirmed that the second suspect is currently unarmed. The identity of the second suspect has not been released.
