Authorities in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, are actively searching for multiple male suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery of a Brinks armored truck. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Chester, specifically at an AutoZone located at the intersection of 9th Street and Avenue of the States. According to the Delaware County District Attorney’s office, the suspects approached the armored vehicle while it was stopped and committed an armed robbery at gunpoint. During the assault, the suspects allegedly assaulted the truck driver, confiscated his weapon, and fled the scene with a significant amount of cash. The suspects are believed to have arrived at and departed from the scene in a Nissan Pathfinder. Law enforcement has provided specific details to help identify the target vehicle, noting it has a Pennsylvania license plate reading LLN-2328. The vehicle is described as having black trim around the license plate, black rims, and a roof rack. Officials have explicitly warned the public and law enforcement that a different vehicle with silver trim, no roof rack, and a white CarMax sticker is not the suspect vehicle. The Delaware County DA has released images of both the suspects and the target vehicle to aid in the manhunt. Investigators have indicated that the suspects frequently frequent areas in Darby Township, specifically near Hook and Calcon Hook, as well as Chester City at 410 9th Street. Due to the nature of the crime, officers have been advised to use extreme caution if they encounter the target vehicle, as the firearms used in the robbery have not yet been recovered.
