The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an unidentified male suspect following a violent road rage incident that left two individuals injured in Poinciana, Florida. The shooting occurred Tuesday night at the intersection of Doverplum Avenue and Cypress Parkway, near HCA Poinciana Hospital. According to deputies, the altercation began when occupants of a black SUV were involved in a confrontation with another vehicle. The situation escalated when the suspect exited his vehicle, threatened to shoot, and then opened fire on the victims as they attempted to drive away. Deputies later recovered the black SUV, which was found riddled with bullet holes. Both victims managed to drive themselves to HCA Poinciana Hospital, where they received medical attention. One victim, the passenger, was shot in the face and subsequently airlifted to Osceola Regional Medical Center. The driver sustained a grazing bullet wound. Both victims are currently cooperating with investigators. Authorities have not yet released a detailed physical description of the suspect or specific details regarding the vehicle involved, other than confirming the shooter is believed to be a man. It remains unclear whether the confrontation was random or if the parties knew each other. Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kim Montes emphasized the persistent danger of road rage in Central Florida, advising motorists to avoid engagement, make no eye contact, and prioritize safety by not interacting with aggressive drivers. The suspect remains at large, and the investigation is ongoing. The hospital campus was not placed under lockdown during the incident.
