Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies are actively searching for a suspect following a fatal stabbing incident that occurred Tuesday night in Ocala, Florida. The victim has been identified as 62-year-old William Kennedy III. Authorities responded to a report of a stabbing around 8:45 p.m. in the 4000 block of West Highway 326. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Kennedy lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds. Marion County Fire Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Lt. Paul Bloom of the MCSO stated that the investigation indicates the attack was not random and that the victim and suspect likely knew one another. Investigators believe the suspect may be part of the homeless population residing near the interstate in the area. While specific details regarding the motive or the identity of the suspect have not been released, detectives are treating the case as a homicide and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
