Jovontae Isahia Newman, 22, remains at large following a bank robbery in Munster, Indiana, while his alleged accomplice, Michael Desean Anderson, 32, is currently in custody. Both men have been charged by the Munster Police Department with two counts of robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery. The incident occurred on June 15 at approximately 3:20 p.m. at Fifth Third Bank, located at 8007 Calumet Avenue in northwest Indiana. According to police reports, a suspect approached a teller, presented a note, demanded money, and inferred he possessed a weapon before fleeing the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was described as a tall, slender Black male wearing a white hazmat-type suit, a blue hard hat, and goggles. Authorities have identified Newman as the individual who remains at large, while Anderson is being held at the Lake County Jail. Both suspects are from Gary and are suspected of involvement in additional robberies in Michigan City and Winfield. The Munster Police Department is actively seeking information regarding Newman's whereabouts.
