Secaucus Police are actively seeking suspects following a chaotic incident that occurred over Labor Day weekend in Secaucus, New Jersey. The event began around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday when more than 100 vehicles descended upon the intersection of Secaucus Road and County Avenue. According to police reports, the drivers engaged in reckless behavior, including performing doughnuts in the street, while groups of onlookers filmed the scene on their devices. When officers arrived on the scene, they were surrounded by a crowd of more than 50 individuals, some of whom climbed atop police vehicles. The situation escalated when members of the crowd shot fireworks at and under the police cars, utilizing the fireworks as incendiary devices. Although no officers were injured, the incident required assistance from several local agencies to disperse the large crowd. Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller condemned the unrest, stating that he will not tolerate such behavior and that the city will not be a place where criminals operate with impunity. Chief Miller announced that resources from the Traffic Bureau, Detective Division, Patrol Division, and Intelligence Section are being dedicated to a new Task Force. The primary objective of this task force is to identify the individuals responsible for the riotous behavior and bring them to justice. Police are currently reviewing video footage posted online to identify those involved. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident or possible suspects to contact the Secaucus Police Department immediately. The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement works to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack on officers and the disruption of public safety.
