Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks has issued an urgent warning regarding Jason Lee Taylor, a 38-year-old man from Newport, Ohio, who is currently at-large and considered armed and dangerous. Taylor is wanted in connection with the murder of his mother-in-law, 67-year-old Linda Gray. The incident occurred on Friday evening at the shared residence located at 1125 Bells Run Road in Newport. According to Sheriff Mincks, Taylor allegedly shot Gray in the face using a firearm equipped with a suppressor. Following the shooting, Taylor admitted to his wife, Sabrina Gray, that he had committed the crime. Sabrina, who works in home health, discovered Taylor sitting in the dark on the porch upon arriving home shortly before midnight. After Taylor confessed, he forced her to drive him to his father’s home to retrieve another vehicle. During this transit, Sabrina managed to escape and alerted a family member, who contacted law enforcement. By the time the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team arrived at the scene, Taylor had already fled. Investigators confirmed Linda Gray’s death and noted that a large sum of her money and two firearms are missing, further indicating Taylor’s dangerous nature. Taylor is described as wearing blue jeans, a blue “Real Tree” shirt, and a camouflage hat. He is believed to be driving a 1996 white Buick Century with Ohio license plate FWK1997. Sheriff Mincks emphasized that Taylor has prior weapons charges and urges the public not to approach him under any circumstances. Residents who have information regarding Taylor’s location are instructed to call 911 immediately to assist in the ongoing manhunt.
