A 16-year-old female victim was shot twice on Sunday night in DeSoto, Texas, prompting an active investigation by DeSoto Police Detectives. The incident occurred shortly after 10:30 pm in the 500 block of Edmonds Way. According to police reports, the victim had recently attended a large party in the nearby 500 block of Buckingham Place, which had been dispersed by law enforcement prior to the shooting. After leaving the party, the teen was standing with several other individuals in front of a home on Buckingham Place when an unknown perpetrator approached the group on foot. The suspect fired multiple gunshots, striking the victim twice. Following the shooting, the victim managed to flee the immediate area. DeSoto officers located her later on Edmonds Way, where she was in the front yard of a nearby residence. She was transported to a local hospital, where she is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities are currently searching for the suspect, who may have fled the scene in a dark sedan. DeSoto Detectives are actively investigating the case and are urging anyone with information regarding the suspect or the vehicle involved to come forward.
