The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking a male suspect in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at a Subway restaurant located at 715 Church Street in Allenton. The incident took place on a Saturday night, with law enforcement responding to the scene at approximately 8:55 p.m. According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect entered the establishment and immediately proceeded into the employee work area. Dressed entirely in black clothing, including black shoes, pants, a hooded sweatshirt, and gloves, the individual pulled a black handgun from a blue bag. He then forced the employees to the ground and removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before fleeing the business on foot. The suspect is described as being approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin-to-medium build. Sheriff Martin Schulteis condemned the incident as a brazen and violent act that threatened the safety of innocent employees simply trying to do their jobs. He emphasized that the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is committing every available investigative resource to the case, including the major crimes unit, which is continuing the investigation. The sheriff stated that they will pursue every lead and utilize every appropriate investigative tool in collaboration with law enforcement partners until the person responsible is identified, apprehended, and brought before the court.
