New York City police are actively searching for a suspect responsible for a violent assault that left a 75-year-old man with serious injuries in Midtown Manhattan. The incident occurred on Thursday morning, approximately at 6:30 a.m., when the victim was walking along Lexington Avenue near East 50th Street. According to authorities, the elderly man was approached by an unidentified stranger who delivered an unprovoked, closed-fist punch to his face. The attack resulted in a fractured orbital bone, commonly referred to as a broken eye socket. Following the assault, emergency medical services transported the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was treated and subsequently listed in stable condition. The suspect fled the scene on foot, heading south on Lexington Avenue toward East 49th Street. Police released photographs of the suspect late Thursday night to assist the public in identification. The individual was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black pants, and black shoes. Investigators are urging anyone who may have witnessed the attack or has information regarding the suspect's whereabouts to come forward.
