Knoxville police are investigating a homicide after 31-year-old Perry Baker of Michigan was found shot dead in an apartment on Lula Powell Drive on May 11. Officers responded to a welfare check call around 5:20 p.m. and discovered Baker unresponsive with gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and later transported to the Regional Forensic Center for examination. Authorities have not identified or arrested a suspect, and the Homicide Unit continues its investigation.
