Richard Tarrant, a 56-year-old Baltimore man with an extensive criminal history, remains at large and is wanted by federal authorities for violating the terms of his supervised release. Tarrant was originally sentenced to 15 years in federal prison in September 2008 for distribution of cocaine base, stemming from an undercover drug sting in February 2007. During the operation in the Penn North area of West Baltimore, undercover officers observed Tarrant sell eight vials of crack cocaine for $40. Following his release from prison, Tarrant was placed on supervised release, but a warrant for his arrest was issued in August 2022 due to alleged violations of those terms. As of August 2026, nearly four years later, his whereabouts remain unknown and the warrant has not been served. The U.S. Marshals Service highlights Tarrant’s long history of criminal activity, which includes prior convictions for armed robbery in 1991 and multiple drug-related arrests between 1998 and 2007. Authorities express concern for public safety given his pattern of failing to abide by probation and supervised release conditions.
