Milwaukee police are actively seeking a single suspect wanted in connection with three separate homicides that occurred on August 9, 2026. The incidents took place within a short timeframe between 9:40 p.m. and 10:05 p.m. in the Mitchell Park and northwest sections of the city. Authorities have confirmed that the same individual is responsible for all three shootings, two of which were linked to domestic violence disputes. The victims have been identified by their families through online fundraising pages, as the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office has not yet released formal identifications. Vanessa Herrera, 26, and Scott Bucholz, 29, were shot around 9:40 p.m. in the 2100 block of West Pierce Street. According to family statements, Herrera was the victim of a domestic violence incident, and Bucholz was shot while attempting to intervene and help her. Approximately 25 minutes later, police responded to a shooting in the 3400 block of North 39th Street, where 39-year-old Shamarla Hare, also known as Asir Hare, was fatally shot. Hare is described as a mother. The Milwaukee Police Department is urging the public to come forward with any information regarding these crimes.
