Boca Raton police are actively searching for multiple gunmen who remain at large following a targeted shooting incident that occurred on Sunday, August 9, 2026. The attack took place around 2:30 p.m. near the 1400 block of Northeast Second Court, just north of the intersection of Glades Road and Federal Highway. According to investigators, the victim, an unidentified woman, was shot while getting into her car. The assailants, who were inside a nearby white Mercedes-Benz, opened fire on the woman before chasing her as she drove west on Glades Road toward a hospital. The vehicle followed her for a short distance before the pursuit ended. Despite being shot, the woman managed to escape the scene. Police have not released the woman’s identity, the severity of her injuries, or her current medical condition. Detectives have been conducting door-to-door canvassing in the surrounding neighborhood and searching the area near a parking lot edge for evidence. On Monday, August 10, investigators were seen picking up an object that appeared to be a bullet, though its connection to the shooting has not been confirmed. The incident occurred in a residential area near several community institutions, including the Fuller Center’s East Campus, the Torah Academy of Boca Raton’s Yeshiva Boys Campus, and Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Police spokesperson Dylan Huberman stated that investigators believe the woman was specifically targeted and that there is no ongoing threat to the general public, but they have not disclosed a motive. No arrests have been made, and the number of gunmen inside the vehicle or the number of shots fired remains unknown.
