The Orange County Sheriff's Office has identified the individuals as Drake Lee Milam, 33; his girlfriend, Porsche Bancroft, 32; and Bancroft’s mother, Angela Garrett, 52. Authorities allege that the trio traveled across the country, targeting cemeteries to break into niches holding cremated remains. Their alleged motive was to steal family heirlooms, such as wedding rings and other jewelry, which were left with loved ones as tokens of remembrance. These items are described as priceless to grieving families, making the crimes particularly distressing to the community. While officials have confirmed at least 20 reported cases within Florida, detectives believe the actual number of incidents could be higher. The suspects are suspected of committing similar thefts in at least nine other states, though they are believed to currently reside in Indianapolis, Indiana. All three individuals are currently at large and hold active warrants, making them subject to extradition back to Florida to face charges. The Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution is handling the complex multi-state investigation.
