Milwaukee Police Department officers are actively searching for a suspect responsible for the deaths of three individuals following two separate shootings that occurred on Saturday night, August 8, 2026. The investigation began around 9:40 p.m. when police responded to a call near the intersection of 21st and Pierce Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims shot in what was described as a domestic violence-related incident. The victims have been identified by their families as Vanessa DeHerrera, a 26-year-old woman, and Scott Bucholz, a 29-year-old man. According to a GoFundMe page created for Bucholz, he was attempting to intervene in a domestic dispute when the suspect opened fire, resulting in the deaths of both individuals. Approximately 25 minutes later, at 10:05 p.m., police were dispatched to a second shooting near 39th and Townsend Streets. A 39-year-old individual was found shot and transported to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. Friends identified this victim as Shamarla 'Asir' Hare, a Navy veteran. While police have not publicly named a suspect, authorities state they know who they are looking for. It remains unclear if the two shootings are connected. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made. Milwaukee police are urging anyone with information regarding these incidents to contact them at 414-935-7360. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS or through the P3 Tips app or online service.
