Authorities in Florida are seeking three individuals suspected of orchestrating a widespread theft ring targeting cemeteries across the United States. The Orange County Sheriff's Office has announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspects. The trio consists of Drake Milam, 33; his girlfriend, Porsche Bancroft, 32; and Bancroft's mother, Angela Garrett, 52. According to law enforcement, the group traveled extensively, breaking into cemetery niches to steal cremated remains and the personal heirlooms placed with them, such as wedding rings. These items are often the last physical connections families have to their deceased loved ones. While the suspects are believed to be from Indianapolis, Indiana, they are currently thought to be anywhere along the East Coast. The investigation has already identified 20 cases in Florida, though detectives suspect the number of incidents is significantly higher. The Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution is assisting in the pursuit of the suspects to ensure they are held accountable for these crimes. Law enforcement is urging the public to remain vigilant. Residents are encouraged to check the gravesites of their late family members for any signs of disturbance or missing items.
