Flint police and Michigan State Police are searching for an unidentified suspect wanted in connection with a deadly shooting that claimed the lives of two teenage boys. The incident occurred late Monday night, August 10, 2026, at the intersection of James P. Cole Boulevard and Stewart Street on the north side of Flint. According to authorities, a fight involving multiple individuals broke out during a large outdoor gathering. Moments after the altercation began, gunfire was discharged directly into the crowd. A 16-year-old boy was struck and transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A 17-year-old boy was also shot and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries; he succumbed to his wounds on Tuesday afternoon. The Flint Major Case Unit is leading the investigation with support from the Michigan State Police. As of the latest update on August 12, no suspect has been taken into custody, and no arrests have been announced. The identities of the victims have not been released to the public.
