The Federal Bureau of Investigation has officially added Rey E. Grabato II to its Most Wanted Fraudsters list, seeking the public's assistance in locating the suspect accused of orchestrating a massive investment fraud scheme. Grabato, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, is alleged to have defrauded roughly 2,000 investors, including hundreds located in New Jersey, of more than $650 million. He faces a litany of serious federal charges, including conspiracy to commit securities fraud, securities fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States with respect to taxes. According to federal authorities, Grabato served as the president and majority owner of National Realty Investment Advisors LLC. Along with co-conspirators, he is accused of misrepresenting the value of the company’s investment fund between February 2018 and January 2022. Additionally, Grabato is implicated in a separate scheme to obstruct the Internal Revenue Service’s efforts to collect approximately $26 million in outstanding tax liabilities from November 2007 through August 2022. A federal arrest warrant was originally issued for Grabato in Newark in October 2022. The FBI reports that Grabato has ties to the Philippines and may currently be residing there. To encourage tips leading to his capture, the FBI is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information that results in his arrest and conviction. Authorities urge anyone with information regarding Grabato’s whereabouts to contact the FBI immediately. This addition marks Grabato as the second individual placed on the FBI’s newly established Most Wanted Fraudsters list, which is designed to publicly identify individuals charged with defrauding American citizens.
