Houston Police have released composite sketches and surveillance video of a suspect wanted in connection with a violent shooting incident that occurred on July 17. The suspect is accused of shooting a 43-year-old man in the stomach during an attempted robbery at a car wash located in the 10800 block of Sabo Road. According to authorities, the incident took place around 12:20 p.m. when the suspect approached the victim, pointed a pistol at him, and demanded money. As the victim reached for his vehicle's door to retrieve his wallet, the suspect fired, striking him in the stomach before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported to a hospital with gunshot wounds. Shortly after the shooting, a Harris County Precinct 2 Constable deputy, who was nearby, heard the gunshot and pursued the suspect in his vehicle. The deputy, who was in uniform, observed the suspect fleeing across the street. While attempting to apprehend the suspect, the individual turned around and fired at the deputy's vehicle, striking it more than once. The deputy was not injured. The suspect eventually fled into an apartment complex, where the deputy lost sight of him. HPD describes the suspect as a young Black man who was wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt and shorts at the time of the incident. The Houston Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding the suspect's location or identity to contact the HPD Robbery Division at 713-308-0700 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect remains at large.
