Darren Anthony Robinson, 56, is currently at large and has been added to the FBI’s Most Wanted Fraudsters List. Robinson is accused of orchestrating a massive investment fraud scheme that allegedly raised approximately $100 million from hundreds of victims. The investigation centers on QYU Holdings, an entity Robinson operated that presented itself as a professional investment company focused on foreign currency trading. Federal authorities allege that the fraudulent activities began around 2010 and continued until 2023. According to the FBI, Robinson utilized a Ponzi-like structure, using funds from newer investors to make payments to earlier investors while diverting other funds for personal expenses. The victims of this scheme include retirees, families saving for education, and business owners across the United States, Canada, Panama, and other countries. Robinson, who was born in Brooklyn, New York, has extensive international travel history with identified connections to Panama, the United Arab Emirates, and Colombia. He was previously charged in federal court in Michigan with 11 counts of wire fraud and one count of money laundering. Although Robinson was released on bond while the case was pending, a federal arrest warrant was issued in January 2024 by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan after he failed to comply with monitoring conditions. The FBI Detroit Field Office is leading the search for Robinson, who is believed to have connections outside the United States. The Internal Revenue Service’s Criminal Investigation division is also involved due to concerns regarding the movement and handling of funds. The FBI is offering a $150,000 reward for information that leads to Robinson’s arrest and conviction. Investigators are urging anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact the FBI tip line at 800-CALL-FBI or visit their local field office. Victims of the QYU Holdings scheme are encouraged to submit information through the FBI’s dedicated victim information page. The addition of Robinson to the specialized fraud list marks a renewed phase in the federal effort to locate him and bring him to justice for the substantial financial impact inflicted on his victims.
