The Metropolitan Police Department is actively seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating a suspect wanted in connection with a robbery and nonfatal shooting that took place in Northwest Washington, D.C. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at approximately 4:34 a.m. in the 1600 block of 12th Street. Upon receiving the report, officers from the Third District responded to the scene and located an adult male victim who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS subsequently transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. According to the investigation, the suspect initially offered the victim transportation. The victim accepted the offer and accompanied the suspect to a vehicle. Once inside or near the vehicle, the suspect brandished a firearm and demanded the victim's property. After seizing the victim's belongings, the suspect shot the victim and fled the scene. The suspect was captured on security cameras, and images are available for public identification. The Metropolitan Police Department is urging anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information regarding this incident to contact law enforcement.
