Darren Anthony Robinson, 56, is currently at large and has been added to the FBI’s Most Wanted Fraudsters list. The founder and principal operator of QYU Holdings is accused of orchestrating an international Ponzi-style investment scheme that defrauded investors of approximately $100 million. Federal authorities allege that Robinson misrepresented QYU Holdings and related entities as professional investment firms trading in the foreign exchange market, when in reality, the vast majority of investor funds were not used for currency trading. Instead, new investor deposits were used to pay earlier investors, while other funds covered operating expenses, employee compensation, and Robinson’s personal lifestyle. The investigation, which began in 2022 after a tip to the FBI Detroit Field Office, covers investment activity from approximately 2010 through 2023. Bank records from 2015 to 2022 show more than $70 million in wire deposits, with dozens of investors in southeast Michigan collectively losing tens of millions of dollars. Victims include retirees, families, and business owners. During a voluntary interview in June 2023, Robinson allegedly admitted to creating fictitious trading data and providing false account statements. A federal indictment in the Eastern District of Michigan charged him with 11 counts of wire fraud and one count of money laundering. Although Robinson was initially released on bond, he fled in November 2023 by removing his GPS tether and has remained a fugitive since. The FBI is offering up to $150,000 for information leading to his arrest and conviction. Robinson is believed to have traveled extensively, with connections to South Florida, Atlanta, Southern California, Panama, the United Arab Emirates, Colombia, Europe, and Asia. He faces up to 20 years in prison for each wire fraud count and up to 10 years for money laundering. The FBI urges the public to report any information regarding his whereabouts or additional victims to the FBI Detroit Field Office. Individuals are advised not to attempt to apprehend Robinson.
