Darren Anthony Robinson, a 56-year-old resident of Brooklyn, New York, and founder of QYU Holdings, is currently at large and has been added to the FBI’s Most Wanted Fraudsters list. Robinson is accused of orchestrating an international Ponzi-style investment scheme that defrauded investors of approximately $100 million. The scheme, which operated through QYU Holdings and related entities, purported to trade in the foreign exchange market but allegedly used new investor deposits to pay earlier investors and fund Robinson’s personal lifestyle. Federal authorities estimate that dozens of investors in southeast Michigan lost tens of millions of dollars, with hundreds of victims affected globally, including retirees and business owners. Robinson, who was released on bond in January 2024, fled in November 2023 by removing his GPS tether while on approved travel. He faces 11 counts of wire fraud and one count of money laundering, with potential sentences of up to 20 years per fraud count. The FBI Detroit Field Office is investigating the case, which began in 2022 after initial tips were received. Robinson is believed to have traveled extensively, with connections to South Florida, Atlanta, Southern California, Panama, the United Arab Emirates, Colombia, and various locations in Europe and Asia. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to his arrest and conviction. Authorities urge the public not to attempt to apprehend Robinson but to report any information regarding his whereabouts or additional victims to the FBI. Robinson was born in Brooklyn, New York, and is currently the subject of an active federal arrest warrant issued in the Eastern District of Michigan.
