Louisville Metro Police are actively searching for the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred early Friday morning in the Park Hill neighborhood. The investigation began just before 3:45 a.m. on West Oak Street, near 11th Street, when officers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. According to LMPD spokesperson Christopher Baker, the victim, an unidentified woman, was struck by an unknown vehicle that immediately fled the scene in an unknown direction. First responders arrived at the scene and rendered emergency aid to the victim before she was transported to UofL Hospital. Tragically, she succumbed to her life-threatening injuries at the hospital. The Louisville Metro Police Department Traffic Unit is currently working to identify the vehicle and the driver involved in the crash. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident or the suspect vehicle to come forward.
