Baltimore City Police have released surveillance images and are seeking information regarding two juveniles wanted in connection with an armed robbery and assault that occurred in the Canton neighborhood. The incident took place on August 4th on the 600 block of South Bradford Street. According to reports, officers responded to the scene where the victim, identified as Richard Dreves, was confronted by a group of teenagers. During the encounter, one suspect brandished a handgun, threatening to shoot Dreves after he refused to surrender his shoes and watch. When Dreves attempted to flee, the suspects chased him through the neighborhood streets, throwing rocks and ultimately stealing his watch. Dispatch audio indicates that responding officers were warned that one of the juveniles was armed. Although the suspects managed to evade immediate capture, they were recorded by area surveillance cameras. Investigators have now made these images public and are offering a $6,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. The case has drawn attention from local officials, including Baltimore City Police Commissioner Richard Worley and State’s Attorney Ivan Bates, who have recently discussed frustrations regarding juvenile crime and the justice system. The victim, Dreves, has also spoken out, calling for greater accountability and consequences for juvenile offenders.
