The Federal Bureau of Investigation has issued an urgent appeal for public assistance in locating Rey E. Grabato II, a fugitive currently at large and sought on multiple federal charges. Grabato, who served as the president and majority owner of National Realty Investment Advisors LLC, is accused of orchestrating a massive investment fraud scheme that defrauded approximately 2,000 investors of more than $650 million. The alleged criminal activity took place between February 2018 and January 2022, during which time Grabato and co-conspirators reportedly misrepresented the value of the company's investment fund, which was used to acquire equity interests in real estate assets. In addition to the securities and wire fraud charges, Grabato is accused of participating in a separate scheme from November 2007 to August 2022 to obstruct the Internal Revenue Service in collecting approximately $26 million in outstanding tax liabilities. A federal arrest warrant was issued for Grabato on October 12, 2022, by the U.S. District Court in Newark, New Jersey. Although the scheme involved victims across the United States, hundreds of the defrauded investors are located in New Jersey, and the warrant was issued in Newark. The FBI has indicated that Grabato has ties to the Philippines and may currently be residing there. To encourage his capture, the FBI is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information that leads to his arrest and conviction. Individuals with any information regarding Grabato's whereabouts are urged to contact their local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate immediately. The investigation remains active, and authorities continue to seek his apprehension to bring him to justice for the alleged financial crimes.
