Canton, Ohio police are actively searching for 41-year-old Melissa Terrell, who remains at large following a double homicide investigation. Terrell is wanted on charges of aggravated arson, tampering with evidence, and obstructing justice. The case centers on the deaths of 42-year-old Katina Spells and 31-year-old Kourtni Yeager, whose bodies were discovered inside an apartment building on the 700 block of Alan Page Dr. SE on August 9. Canton Police Chief John Gabbard reported that officers responded to a structure fire where firefighters found the victims suffering from gunshot wounds and severe burns. While Terrell has not been apprehended, two other suspects have been taken into custody. Darrell Washington, 46, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in New Philadelphia on August 12 and is currently held on a $3 million bond after pleading not guilty to aggravated murder and aggravated arson. Eric Lamar, 43, surrendered on August 11 and is held on a $2 million bond facing charges of aggravated arson, tampering with evidence, and obstructing justice. Canton authorities are urging the public to assist in locating Terrell, who is believed to be at large.
