Federal authorities have significantly increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of Omar Alexander Cardenas, raising the amount from $100,000 to up to $1 million. Cardenas, 31, is currently listed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list and remains at large following the fatal shooting of Jabali Dumas, 46, in Sylmar, California. The incident occurred on August 15, 2019, at a barber shop located within a small shopping center in the Sylmar neighborhood. Cardenas is alleged to have fatally shot Dumas during the incident. According to the FBI, Cardenas is a member of the Pierce Street gang, where he was known by the alias “Dollar,” and is also associated with the Pacoima Van Nuys Boys. He is described as standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing between 240 and 300 pounds. Cardenas is known to wear prescription glasses and a beard. Federal law enforcement agencies warn that Cardenas is considered armed and dangerous. Previous reports indicated that he may have fled to Mexico, and he has remained on the run since his initial placement on the most wanted list in 2022.
