Omaha Police and Omaha Crime Stoppers are seeking the public's assistance in locating Israel Villanueva-Luna, a 29-year-old suspect wanted in connection with a severe hit-and-run incident. The incident occurred on July 24 near the intersection of 38th and Q Streets in Omaha, Nebraska. According to police reports, Villanueva-Luna was driving eastbound on Q Street when he struck a parked white vehicle. The impact caused the vehicle to reverse and pin a pedestrian standing between the parked cars against another vehicle. The victim, who was waiting to enter a gray SUV, sustained catastrophic injuries requiring the amputation of both legs. Villanueva-Luna fled the scene immediately after the collision. The suspect is described as approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 230 pounds. Authorities note that Villanueva-Luna has a prior criminal history including domestic assault and receiving stolen property, and he currently has an active warrant for two counts of misdemeanor theft. His last known address is located near 21st and Vinton Streets in Omaha. Omaha Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
