The New York City Police Department is actively searching for Robert Bilek, a 63-year-old man wanted in connection with an unprovoked assault on a 12-year-old boy aboard an MTA bus. According to police reports, the incident occurred on June 3, just before 7:30 a.m., when Bilek was riding the Q63 bus near the intersection of Northern Boulevard and 102nd Street in Corona, Queens. During the ride, Bilek allegedly approached the young victim and struck him in the head with a closed fist. The attack caused immediate pain to the child, who subsequently exited the bus while Bilek remained on board before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction. Emergency Medical Services responded to the location to treat the victim at the scene. Bilek is described by authorities as having a light complexion and a bald head. He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt with red lettering across the chest and sunglasses. The NYPD has released a surveillance photograph of Bilek from inside the bus and is urging the public to assist in locating him. A reward of up to $3,500 is available for information that leads to his arrest and indictment.
